I have just heard, after months of work with the help of Arts Alive, The Brecon Beacons Trust has awarded the Woollen line a large grant to enable work to continue. With this funding and the recent grant from the Sustainable Development Fund the match funds will pay for the big installation of wool this September. So put these dates in your diaries, 6th, 7th and 8th September we will be carrying over half a tonne of wool onto the hill( with the help of 12 ponies) and pegging down new lines of wool to stabilise the surface.
We also have about 200 seedlings of cotton grass to plant and about 200 wool sausages to complete the broken lines along the top edge of the scar. So the more hands we have the better.
Funds from these two grants will also be used to continue work with a number of other activities taking place, watch this space!
